Our history
Where it all started
ALFRA dosing and weighing equipment embodies over 90 years of experience, ensuring companies in the powder and granulates processing industry can measure any product safely, flexibly and efficiently. This applies to micro, medium and macro components in all quantities. The dosing range of an ALFRA machine can range from 1 gram up to 10,000 kilograms. With a large range of ALFRA equipment, the machines supply for each step within the production process: from the intake of raw materials to solutions for the distribution of finished products. An ALFRA machine is an investment to benefit from for a long time.
ALFRA’s mission is to apply and share process knowledge and technology so that customers in the animal nutrition industry can produce high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner for the living environment of humans and animals. Technological innovation constantly improves the performance of the customer’s production. Good cooperation is of paramount importance to us, with customers but also with partners across the world. Because only through close partnerships with all parties involved, is ALFRA able to truly optimize the customer’s production process.
ALFRA equipment is constructed by using a modular approach, hereby facilitating easy transportation around the globe and quick installation at the customer site. Every ALFRA product is ingrained with Dutch quality and craftsmanship to help withstand the test of time.
The factory of ALFRA weighing instruments is established in Amsterdam by Mr Albert and Mr Francis
The factory relocates to Bladel, in the south of the Netherlands.
The ALFRA LBW Oblong weigher is invented.
The first ALFRA dosing slide is born.
The first factory automation is presented at the Victam event in Utrecht.
The movable weigher is invented, requiring less transport within a feed mill.
The company is acquired by the Dutch manufacturing giant Stork and becomes Stork ALFRA.
ALFRA develops its first machinery for the micro dosing of ingredients. The development continued into the ‘70’s.
ALFRA is acquired by KSE.
KSE builds a new office right next to the original ALFRA factory, securing a large number of new jobs in the area.
ALFRA celebrates its 80 anniversary, along with KSE’s 40th anniversary.
ALFRA gets a brand new production facility of 3000 sqm (32,000 sqft).
The ALFRA BDS, a system to eliminate manual additions is launched.
ALFRA will celebrate its 90th birthday.
